What are the technical requirements for using this service?
There are no technical requirements as such. We have made it convenient and handy for you to connect with parents; you don’t need any software, a dedicated phone line or a mobile phone. All you need is an Internet connection and an account with us.
How quickly can our account be set up?
If your demands are urgent, we can activate your account within 24 hours.
How much time is required for the service to be fully operational?
The service becomes fully operational as soon as it is activated.
Is this service offered to schools only?
No, we offer this service to a range of businesses and other organisations. Whether you are a commercial operation, hospital, university or any other institution, we can help you communicate with staff, customers, or anyone else you want to reach. How many staff members will we need to run this system?
Just one: to type messages, select recipients and click “send”. It can be a teacher or administrative staff member. You certainly won’t need any additional staff.
When and where do we access the system?
You can access the system from anywhere, at any time. All you need is an Internet connection, as SMS 4 Parents is a web-based system.
What tariff plan should I choose?

Is there any fee for training?
No, because there is no training required to use this application and our support team is available to help at any time.
How long does it take to deliver a message?
On average, messages are delivered within 30 seconds. However, some factors beyond our control (such as the end user’s telephone network) can affect delivery speeds.
Is it a 24-hour service, or is there a restricted time for sending messages?
SMS 4 Parents is a 24-hour service. You can send messages at any time you like – you can even schedule messages to be sent on a particular date, or at a specified time.
What is the process for sending messages to the parents of two or more siblings studying at the same school?
There is an option in the settings available to the school to send a duplicate message for each sibling on the same number.
Can we send a message to both parents of the same student?
You can specify two numbers for each student. Hence both mother and father can be sent the same messages.
Do I need to retype the message for every parent or class?
No, you type the message once (or select a template) and it can then be sent to anyone you select, whether an individual or a group.
Can I restrict users’ rights so they can only use existing templates?
Yes, the administrator has full control, including the ability to restrict access rights. The administrator can also authorise only selected members of staff to compose new messages. All other staff members can then send the messages using the templates provided.
How can I send messages to a specific class and not the whole school?
All potential recipients are categorised into classes and sections. Select your class and section from the list and the message will be sent exactly and only to those you have chosen.
Can I create my own groups, irrespective of classes?
Yes, you can create your own groups and add students or parents from different classes and sections to them. You can also name the groups you have created – for example, “cricket club”, “drama society”, “alumni”, etc.
Can I send a message to selected students rather than whole class?
Yes, you can select students from a class or group and the message will be sent only to them, rather than the whole class.
Who can use this system?
Anyone you authorise can use the system, including teachers, the management team, administrative staff, etc.
Can two teachers log in at the same time?
Yes, two teachers can log in at the same time by using their separate login details.
Is there any messaging history?
Yes, one of the features of SMS 4 Parents is “messaging history”, in which a record of all previously sent messages is kept. This feature allows you to review time, date, telephone numbers and message contents.
How will data be protected in the system?
It is company policy not to provide data to third parties.
All staff are trained in information security and privacy procedures.
Systems access is logged and tracked for auditing purposes. Your school's data will never be available to any other organisation. Each school can access its own data for the purposes of sending text messages to parents. However, use of information is restricted to authorised persons only.
Our hosting company provides a dedicated and fully managed firewall. It is a PCI Security Standards Council member and has completed an SSAE 16 Type II SOC 1 examination, indicating that processes, procedures and control have been formally evaluated and tested by an independent service auditor.
